Introducing David
Bio
David’s English teacher, who was an ex-Captain in the Royal Highlanders (The Black Watch), lost no time in finding a set of bagpipes for David to play in the school Corps. Later at university in Leeds, he met with a mentor and piping expert which catapulted David’s pipe progression to the next level.
David became Pipe Corporal of the City of Leeds Pipe Band in the early stages of his career and was among the ranks of pipers when the band lifted the coveted grade 4 championship at the Cowal Highland Gathering in 1968.
Piping has been instrumental in taking David all around the world, including exchange visits in France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Poland, Russia, Ukraine & America. His musical abilities with the Scottish bagpipes have been used in several drama productions, in videos, film & television and has played for Royal occasions – in 1983, for Queen Margeritha of Denmark at Rosenburg Palace, Copenhagen. David has been a guest Piper with the 1st batt. Scots Guards and is currently a member of a highly regarded band in his home town. David is one of only three UK pipers to be awarded a State Knighthood.
David is the perfect addition to your event.
