Bio
Julia learnt the bagpipes somewhat 30 years ago in New Zealand and has played all around the world.
Julia plays the Bagpipes and Celtic Harp for weddings, funerals, birthdays and other events, and offers the option to play both instruments at the same event. She has been playing the Great Highland Bagpipes since 1984, having learnt whilst a student of Electronic Engineering at Auckland University, New Zealand. Her family have a long heritage of playing the bagpipes. Her grandfather piped for London Scottish and set up the Chingford Pipe Band in the 1950s. Julia’s mum was the pipe major of the band and Julia’s aunt was a piper in the famous Dagenham Girl Pipers. With all this family bagpiping heritage it was inevitable that Julia would take up this wonderful instrument.
