Over the 24 years, Matthew has played as a solo performer at some of the most prestigious and well known venues the UK has to offer, from the Royal Albert Hall, Hampton Court Palace and Kew Gardens, to the Great British Pullman steam train. Not only has Matthew played in some of the finest venues the UK has to offer, but he has also played for some of the world’s leading brands and appeared on a range of well-known TV and Radio programmes, from Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and Absolute Radio, to Made in Chelsea and The Last Leg: Correspondents. He has also featured as a session musician with Right Said Fred and for Walkers Crisps, and has performed with The Chieftains, and the international bestselling classical group, Il Divo.
Born and bred in this leafy county, Essex was where Matthew’s piping journey began. Taught by his father George, Matthew first started out learning the bagpipes at the age of 10 years old. Matthew quickly transitioned from the chanter to bagpipes and today is a well established, and highly regarded player in the community.
Matthew has performed in some the finest venues that Essex has to offer, including The Lawn, Hutton Hall, Blake Hall, and Friern Manor to name a few.
