Bio

Lorcan has been playing the pipes for over 30 years. He has a number of years’ experience playing as a soloist and with pipe bands, both in competition and entertainment capacity. He was a member of a band that played for various members of the British Royal Family including the Queen.
 
Lorcan plays the pipes all over the UK and Europe. He is one of the few pipers in the Southwest who also teaches the bagpipes too.

What made you learn?

“Lorcan wanted some kind of musical outlet which was difficult in Southern Ireland in the 80s. He tried the guitar and clarinet and he didn’t get on with those. The Pipe Band in his town went around to all the secondary schools and advertised that they were having an open day. Lorcan went along, and much to his mother’s “delight”, he took up the pipes”
