Introducing Owain
Bio
Owain started playing in pipe bands during high school, performing at competitions across Scotland and playing events in the local community.
His first band was Tynecastle Youth and Community Pipe Band, a new band set up at his school with assistance from the Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust. During his time there he went from being practically a beginner to competing around Scotland, teaching other band members at workshops, and overall making a lot of progress with piping.
Owain then moved to Royal High Pipe band in Grade 4A, before moving to Stockbridge Pipe Band where he is now, who complete in Grade 3A.
Aside from pipe bands, Owain is widely experienced in playing at weddings and corporate events, and can tailor his performance to your needs. He also frequently busks on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, allowing him necessary practise within a relaxed setting.
For some professional top level piping, book Owain for your event or occasion now.

What made you learn?
“Owain lived in Canada from the age of 2-9, and always enjoyed seeing pipe bands at parades and other events. Added to this, Canada is enthusiastic about celebrating its Scottish heritage, which the bagpipes are a key part of. When Owain moved back to Scotland, the opportunity to learn the chanter came in Primary School, and he never looked back”
