Introducing Paul
Bio
In his late teens and early twenties Paul got involved in the artistry community within Cornwall working as an assistant and general help. Here Paul learnt a lot about music and met many top musicians, artists and sculptors. It was here that Paul became immersed in music and bagpiping followed not long after.
On getting married and returning to his Devon home, Paul started to play the pipes commercially for weddings, funerals and parties on a part-time basis and also progressed onto forming his popular Ceilidh Band ‘Piping Hot’ where he developed his infectious ‘Dancy’ style of performing. He has been playing full-time for many years now and enjoys the interaction with his customers, with many of them now becoming friends.

What made you learn?
“Paul fell in love with the sound of the pipes while living and working in the North East of Scotland in his 20’s. He had developed a fondness of performing whilst appearing on BBC Children’s television whilst in Primary School in the 1950’s and the two occurrences seemed to gel”
