Introducing Robin T
Bio
Robin has been playing the Great Highland Bagpipe for over 13 years. Starting at 8 years old, he received lessons through his school from a Stirling Council instructor. Robin kept this instructor all through primary and secondary school, and it didn’t take long before Robin’s ability began to shine through.
In that time, Robin has played at a high level for two pipe bands, including The Doune Pipe Band and The McLaren High School Pipe Band, where he was elected as Pipe major by the head teacher in 2018. He has also played in band and solo competitions, receiving high accolades in both.
In the Summer of 2019, Robin attended a bagpipe summer school with The College of Piping, this truly catapulted Robin’s playing to the next level.
Robin has performed professionally at over 300 events across Scotland and worldwide, including weddings, funerals, parties, community events and fundraisers. He has played for various occasions, from celebrities and VIPs in London and weddings in Spain, to Military Tattoos in Belgium. He is also the resident piper for the famous Cromlix Hotel, and became the recommended supplier for the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh in 2024.

What made you learn?
“Robin started out his piping life in primary school where everyone was asked to pick an instrument to dabble in. Robin knew that he would love the bagpipes as soon as he made that choice. Every year, him and his family would visit the local Highland Games to hear the bands and he absolutely loved it. The rest is history”
