Introducing Stuart
Bio
Stuart has been playing the Great Highland Bagpipes for many years and currently competes at a Grade 2 level.
He has performed all over the world including France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Japan and of course in his home country of Scotland where he has played at many events and occasions, one prestigious event being the Genesis Scottish Golf Open Championship 2025.
Stuart also composed new 6/8 march called ‘March to St Giles Cathedral’ for Edinburgh’s 900 year celebrations. He had the pleasure to play the tune outside the Cathedral in front of thousands.

What made you learn?
“Stuart left the Cub Scouts at 10 yrs old in 1980, walked past his local Pipe Band hall in Kirkcudbright on his way home, and wandered in for a listen. Stuart started lessons that week and nearly 44 years later he’s still at it”
